APA hotels are always the ones to go to for me in Japan. Clean and neat business hotel chain that has pretty much the same facilities all around the country, so no surprises here. The rooms are very small, but for a one person stay it doesn't really matter. Cleaning is done everyday, the facilities are new and modern. The hotel is very conveniently located, 5 minutes walk to Hakata station (the central one, you will use pretty much only this one during your stay in Fukuoka). Tenjin (another area with lots to see and to do, and the second biggest railway station) is 15 min away by foot or 4 min by subway (it's actually better to walk, it's faster and you get to see the city). Definitely, check 'Cafe de Crei' that is located right next to the hotel, I always had breakfasts there :) You can access the hotel either from Hakata or Gion stations for Airport subway line, it's only a couple of stops away.

Astra2015

The compact room was cozy and comfortable, great for a solo traveler. Everything was clean and well maintained. They do not clean the room every day but provide fresh towels and toiletries every day in a bag by the door if you stay more than one day. I had trouble with the automated check-in but the staff were kind and helpful and fixed it right away. There is only one elevator, but it is fast. It is a great location, near the train station but also several subway stops.

Nice clean rooms. Friendly staff. Close to Hakata station. There are 2 bottles of free water in the room which I appreciate. I stayed 2 nights and didn’t request room cleaning, and the staff hung a bag of fresh towels and amenities outside my door, a very nice touch. I like that the chair has wheels, easy to move around.
